We were a group of fellow senior consultants who wanted to find out how it might be to work on a fictive IoT (Internet of Things) case together. Elaborating if it might be a possibility to sell in consultants as a working group instead of us as individuals. The group consisted of both front-end and back-end programmers, business model oriented people as well as a designer (Margareta) .
We wanted to see if we could create a business idea together with a physical prototype in just 3 days.
Margareta led the group's designprocess. Starting out with hypothetical value propositions, assumed users and possible values and continuing with mockups and graphical design of an actual website.
Together we created a connected a plant with a corresponding web service where you could monitor you own plants and socialize with other plant owners and their plants.
We had a lot of fun doing the business prototype, but we started developing far to early - skipping the user research of the validity of the business idea. Doing user research before prototyping would have helped us a lot.
